The WSET® Level 2 Professional Certificate in Spirits
This qualification is intended to provide a comprehensive level of focused product knowledge required to underpin job skills and competencies, for example in bar service, cocktail service and for staff requiring focused product knowledge in retail and wholesale businesses.
Successful candidates will be able to give information on the characteristics of the principle spirits and liqueurs and identify major international brands within each category. They will confidently provide guidance on the use and service of spirits and liqueurs to meet their taste, quality and price requirements.
Curriculum
Unit 1 - Understanding Spirits and Liqueurs
- Introduction to the General Production Techniques
- Principle International Categories
- Brandy, Scotch Whisky, Rum, Vodka, Tequila, Gin & other Flavoured Spirits, Liqueurs and Fruit spirits
- Customer Information and Advice
To gain the Level 2 qualification candidates will be required to:
Succesfully complete
- a multiple choice paper of 50 questions
(N.B. bilingual instruction according to location: course material and examination available in either the Engllish or German language).

Guided learning hours:

It is recommended that a student should allocate a minimum of 28 hours of study to successfully complete the full programme. The hours will usually be a combination of taught and private study time. It is recommended that the teaching delivery time is no less than 12 hours.
