Changes to the WSET® Level 3 Advanced Certificate Examination
- From 1 August 2010, all candidates sitting the Advanced Certificate examination (including resit candidates) will be required to complete a written tasting note on two wines, and the tasting paper exam is being extended from 15 to 30 minutes. Please note that this is a “closed book” examination and candidates will not be allowed access to the Systematic Approach to Tasting during this examination.
There will also be a minor change to the Theory exam. This will still last for 1 hour 45 minutes and will continue to have 50 multiple choice questions, but the short written question element will be changed to include:
- One 4-mark question on social, health, safety and legal issues
- Four 24-mark questions covering the rest of the syllabus
